I created a skull with fire spurting out of its eyes on a bed of fire. The focal point is definitely the skull, or the fire spurting out of its eyes. The objective of the project was to create a surrealist design. It wasn't really too surreal, but it still looked cool. I at first had a completely different design, that looked completely different, but was too hard to complete at that time. So I just randomly came up with a flaming skull.

Activist Poster: Work in Progress

The assignment for this project was to create an activist poster. My topic was anti-drug. I drew a skull to resemble death, sadness, and sickness. It took me a while to think of a topic during this project, that was the hardest part for me. It seems that the focal point in my artwork is definitely the skull. I wanted people to focus on the skull, to remind them what happens when you do drugs. Currently, it is bland, so I will work on changing up the background and the photos.

I hope I can keep the A's and B's I keep receiving in this class next semester. I hope I learn about photoshop, as it is a handy program to know how to use. I enjoy this class, and I hope to continue to enjoy this class throughout the rest of this semester.

A variant of the Lol wut pear. Whoever made these is awesome.

This is my second logo for my logo design project. We had to make logos that used the negative space creatively. I put an image of a guitar in the pick on the top left corner that faded into the negative space. I used a basic font and just made a basic logo. I had an image of a pick, and an image of a Les Paul. I then outlined them and made them one color (black and white). Unfortunately, the fonts for "Epic" and "Guitars" are different, which made me disappointed in this logo.

It got cut off...

Friday, October 2, 2009

The other day, we finished our four design books. Personally, thought that everyone's looked awesome. I really like gluing everything to the book, and once I was finished, I was surprised with the results. I had fun making all the designs, and I really liked the outcome of the color design. I showed a lot of depth with the color design. I enjoyed experimenting with illustrator. In many ways, I am glad to be finally done with this project too. We have been working hard for weeks, and I can't wait to start the next project.

Color Design

This is my color design. I made a bunch of shapes seem to pop from the backround. I like the effect of the transparent and blurry bars slashing through the image.

The assignment was to show depth with colors, and as you can see, I show depth with the shapes popping out from the center of the image.

When I was thinking about what to do for my design, I thought back to art in middle school. We did something similar, in which we had a bunch of different shapes popping out from a single vanishing point. That is where I got my idea for this piece.

Free Draw Design

The objective of this project was to use all of the elements in our recent designs and combine them. I gave my design the effect of light and dark.

While making this project, I ended up making a cool gradient that ended up being the background of the design. This is what gave the design the light and dark effect.

I ended up using a lot of spirals in the design. It look cool. I also put a bunch of text to give the design an extra cool effect.

First Post

This is my first post on this blog in class. The picture here is the first thing I created in electronic design. It was a line drawing, in which we could use no fills in shapes. This is a picture that is in a series of images which will be in a book.
